Iberian celebrates a decade of success
Iberian recently marked its 10th anniversary by bringing together more than 150 industry leaders in Seville, including insurers, brokers, and other professionals, as well as key figures from the Andalusian economy.
The celebration coincided with the acquisition of 100% of the shares of underwriting agency Crouco by La Mutual dels Enginyers, a strategic move in their growth and expansion strategy following their majority stake acquisition in Alea Cover in 2021.
“On this special day, ten years after starting this project with just a laptop and a mobile phone, I can only express my gratitude to everyone who has made Iberian possible: my partner, Cristian Mateos; our entire team at Iberian; the teams at Alea Cover and Crouco, our insurance companies, and especially our network of collaborators. In my wildest dreams in 2014, I could not have imagined achieving what we have accomplished over this decade, but above all, being surrounded by all these great professionals and even better people, friends, who believe in Iberian and support us on our big day. In the next 10 years, what I truly wish for is that we do not lose our essence and that we continue to enjoy working as we have done so far,” stated Daro Spata, CEO of Iberian.
According to Cristian Mateos, Senior Underwriter & Partner, ”over these 10 years, despite all the challenges, we have positioned Iberian as a leader in the MGA market in Spain: we have built a team of over 30 professionals with incredible talent; we have acquired our own building; we are forming a group of leading underwriting agencies in their segments, allowing us to exceed the 5000 clients and €20 million in premiums that we initially set as our goal. But if we are leaders today, it is undoubtedly thanks to all the professionals we work with and who share Iberian’s unique business vision. To all of them: thank you.”
Iberian Charity Run
Additionally, on the morning of their anniversary, Iberian organized a charity sports event at the Pineda Club in Seville with their Iberian Charity Run, featuring distances of 2.5 and 5 kilometers. Around thirty professionals from the company, insurers, and brokers took part. During the evening cocktail, the underwriting agency presented two checks worth €1500 each to the Debra – Piel de Mariposa Association and the Corazn y Vida Association.
